A normal hill silver-medallist PyeongChang 2018, the 22-year-old German has made a fine start to her bid for World Cup glory this season, having finished as overall runner-up behind Olympic champion Maren Lundby in 2017-18.
A towering jump of 139.5 metres – 4.5m more than any other competitor managed on the day – was the driving force behind Althaus' success in Sunday's large hill event in Norway.
She racked up 254 points overall and helped record a German one-two, Ramona Straub finishing second with 242 points.
Austria's Daniele Iraschko-Stolz (241.7) rounded off the rostrum.
The World Cup circuit continues in Titisee-Neustadt, in Althaus' native Germany, on December 9.
