Domen Prevc secured his first FIS ski jumping World Cup victory in almost five years as he was the winner on the large hill in Sapporo in Japan. The 24-year-old had last tasted success in Vikersund in March 2019, but got back to winning ways in Japan as he got the better of home favourite Ryoyu Kobayashi. Prevc led the way after the first round, his jump of 136.5 metres enough for a small lead.

‘He likes it’ - Prevc seals sixth individual World Cup victory with superb jump in Sapporo

Domen Prevc claimed a first FIS ski jumping World Cup win in nearly five years after triumphing on the large hill in Sapporo.
The 24-year-old had last tasted success in Vikersund in March 2019, but got back to winning ways in Japan as he got the better of home favourite Ryoyu Kobayashi.
Prevc led the way after the first round, his jump of 136.5 metres enough to lead by 0.9 points from Kristoffer Eriksen Sundal.
Kobayashi then produced the best performance of the second round, scoring 140.6, but Prevc was not far behind, his 138.9 points enough to take the win by 3.8 points.
Sundal had to settle for bronze, with overall World Cup leader Stefan Kraft back in fourth - his World Cup lead over Kobayashi cut to 205 points.
The day belonged to Prevc however, back on top after nearly half a decade.
He said: "I love this hill here in Sapporo, it actually went well for me the whole weekend.
"It's a great feeling to know that I can make it to the top again. But the most important thing now is that I stay focused on the essentials in the coming weeks."
