- Born on August 28, 1995

- Tasted Olympic glory with team gold at the 2014 Winter Games

- Gutsy attitude paid off with two silver medals at the 2015 Junior World Championships despite injury setbacks

- Watch him on Eurosport for the duration of the FIS World Cup season and the Four Hills Tournament

Nominated by Eurosport ski jumping commentator Igor Błachut, who said: “In my opinion Andreas Wellinger, the 20-year-old German, will be a great talent to follow in 2016. He has a good style in the air and is also an impressively hard worker – both of which are very important attributes that can drive him to tremendous success. With a bit of work on his landing position he could really be something very special.
“He achieved several very good results in the 2014 season, including his World Cup victory in Wisła and the Olympic gold medal he won in the team event. Even though he was injured for a part of the 2015 season, he was still able to win two silver medals at the Junior World Championships.
“This season, barring any more injuries, he should be a regular on the podium at World Cup events and should climb to new heights in the overall rankings in comparison with his ninth-placed finish two seasons ago.”
