Murray 6-7(6) 6-0 6-3 7-5 Berdych. Game, set and match. Berdych goes long with a defensive backhand looped high down the centre of the court and then net a forehand return off a very solid first serve from Murray. Back-to-back inside out forehands from Murray wrong-foot the Czech for a winner on the second. Three match points to the Scot. And it's an ace down the centre of the court that seals the win for the sixth seed.

Murray 6-7(6) 6-0 6-3 6-5 Berdych. Break. Murray takes the opening point of the game before Berdych levels when Murray's defensive backhand lob, off his opponent's smash, lands just long. The Scot again sneaks ahead when Berdych goes for the forehand down the line but misses. A double fault from the Czech then hands Murray two break points. The Scot takes full advantage of the first, however, and will serve for a place in a fourth Australian Open after the change of ends; Berdych sending his backhand long of the baseline
Murray 6-7(6) 6-0 6-3 5-5 Berdych. Ace number 14 from Murray brings up three game points to move level again. The first goes begging on a netted backhand by the Scot while the second is squandered on a forehand error. But Murray stays aggressive despite having just missed two game points, and this time he draws the error, a forehand long, from Berdych.
Murray 6-7(6) 6-0 6-3 4-5 Berdych. The Czech opens with a forehand long down the line before having an "out" call on his first serve overturned to an ace with a hawkeye challenge. A forehand smash winner right onto the line sees Berdych sneak out in front but Murray pegs him back again with a forehand return winner down the line. An inside out forehand winner across court from Berdych earns him a game point, which he takes full advantage of with a vicious forehand approach shot that Murray can only net at full stretch. Murray will have to serve to keep this fourth set after alive the change of ends.
Murray 6-7(6) 6-0 6-3 4-4 Berdych. A booming backhand return of serve across court from Berdych goes for a winner across court to put a bit of pressure on Murray at 15-all. And two points later he does the same with a forehand return of serve winner down the line. 30-all. Again Murray misses his first serve (that's five in the game) but Berdych can't fully take advantage as he sends a backhand long down the line and Murray goes on to hold.
Murray 6-7(6) 6-0 6-3 3-4 Berdych. Murray is furious with himself for netted his backhand return to a body serve and letting Berdych get away with having dropped the first point of the game. He more than makes up for it to take a 15-30 lead, however, with an insanely angled, defensive cross court forehand that helps him on his way to a forehand winner across court a couple of strokes later. Berdych levels up with a service winner before bringing up a game point with a smash winner. It's another smash that does the damage to seal the game as even though Murray guesses the right direction this time, he cannot control his backhand reply and sends the ball well wide down the line. Berdych is really hanging in impressively here.
Murray 6-7(6) 6-0 6-3 3-3 Berdych. Another killer sliced backhand from Murray causes trouble for Berdych as the ball stays so low. The Scot follows that up with an ace but Berdych works his way back itno the game with a forehand winner from up at the net before putting enough pressure on the Murray serve to earn a break point. He gets a second serve to look at too but Murray saves it with a sensational, dipping forehand passing shot across court on the run that just dies as soon as it hits the court. Murray nets a routine backhand to gift Berdych a second chance at the break but this time it is the serve to the rescue (despite a time violation) for the Scot as Berdych slices his forehand return long. Berdych goes long with the backhand down the line and then with a forehand after Murray's backhand down the line. It's a hold to Murray and that was a good game for the Scot to come through.
Murray 6-7(6) 6-0 6-3 2-3 Berdych. Murray is back at moving Berdych from one side of the court to another, wearing his opponent down with long points. On this occasion he draws the backhand error from the Czech to take the first point of the game. Berdych quickly slams the door shut, though, producing an ace to get himself off the mark before moving ahead with a forehand winner. Murray levels at 30-all but Berdych keeps his nose in front with a body serve and then a trip into the net, where he finds a cross court forehand volley winner that beats Murray for pace.
Murray 6-7(6) 6-0 6-3 2-2 Berdych. A second serve ace from Murray helps him to two game points. The Scot only needs the one though as he holds with an absolutely perfect backhand into the very corner of the court that Berdych can only slice back into bottom of the net. Berdych was muttering away to himself the whole way through that game, clearly unhappy and frustrated. Can he use that frustration to his advantage, though, or is Murray just getting on top of him now?
Murray 6-7(6) 6-0 6-3 1-2 Berdych. Murray only just narrowly slices a backhand wide down the line. The spin he gets on the ball though draws gasps from the crowd. Berdych holds for the loss of just the one point, once again, to sneak ahead once more in this fourth set.
Murray 6-7(6) 6-0 6-3 1-1 Berdych. A forehand volley winner, a regular forehand winner and back-to-back aces help Murray seal a service hold for the loss of just the one point to sling all the pressure back over the net at Berdych immediately.
Murray 6-7(6) 6-0 6-3 0-1 Berdych. For the third consecutive service game, Berdych is unable to take advantage of a 40-0 lead to hold to love. This time he misses a forehand to gift Murray a point. But Murray cannot put him under further pressure this time, netting a backhand approach shot attempt to allow the Czech to hold for the opening game of this fourth set.

Murray 6-7(6) 6-0 6-3 Berdych. Set. Murray is quick to bring up two set points. Berdych saves the first with a wrong-footing forehand winner back behind Murray across court. But the Czech seventh seed can do nothing about the second and Murray seals a two sets to one lead with an ace. That's 12 out of the last 15 games for the Scot, since dropping that tight opening breaker.
Murray 6-7(6) 6-0 5-3 Berdych. Berdych leads by 40-0 once more on serve only to slap down another double fault. But he avoids the mistake of the last game and holds at the second attempt when Murray goes for the cute drop shot across court only to drop the ball short into the net. Murray will have to serve for the third set.
Murray 6-7(6) 6-0 5-2 Berdych. Murray eases through a love service game to consolidate the break. The Scot has turned this match into a physical battle, moving Berdych from one side of the baseline to the other and then back again. And he's coming out on top, Berdych sending a backhand return long of the baseline to concede the game and leave himself serving to keep this third set alive after the change of ends.

Murray 6-7(6) 6-0 4-2 Berdych. Break. A first double for a long time for Berdych is quickly followed by another, after he looked to be cruising towards a love service game a backhand winner down the line. An inside out forehand wide across court allows Murray to level at deuce with very little effort required from the Scot. An aggressive backhand return from Murray draws another unforced error from Berdych and hands the Scot a break point. Berdych saves it with a hugely gutsy forehand right onto the line, Murray challenges but in vain. Berdych can't take advantage of a game point though and Murray comes back to earn himself another break point with a forehand winner down the line. This time the Scot does seal the break, another testing rally from the Scot proving too much for Berdych, who leaves a gaping hole down the line, perfect for Murray's forehand winner after backing away from the ball.
Murray 6-7(6) 6-0 3-2 Berdych. Berdych goes wide with an inside out backhand, hitting well into the tramlines to hand Murray the chance to post his own love service game. The Scot then sends his backhand wide, albeit down the line, to squander his first game point. But he holds at the second attempt with a backhand down the centre of the court that stays low and draws the netted backhand in response from Berdych.
Murray 6-7(6) 6-0 2-2 Berdych. Berdych produces his best game in quite some time to hold with love with back-to-back vicious forehands, the second one an inside out winner across court.
Murray 6-7(6) 6-0 2-1 Berdych. Murray comes out on top of another lengthy rally, eventually getting the ball far enough away from the over-stretched Berdych to draw the error. An ace down the centre of the court from Murray brings up two game points, although he has to make two attempts at it after Berdych has an "out" call overturned with a hawkeye challenge. Murray was right there thoough so they replay the point and this time the Scot does hold with an agressive forehand down the line that Berdych cannot deal with.
