He hits into the net next though for two match points. One goes astray as Montanes hits terribly wide. Fognini bangs yet another winner for deuce. A wild shot for match point AGAIN. Unbelievable as Fognini drop shots from a ludicrous distance to level then pulls off two stunning winners to take the game.

Fognini returns the serva and strolls to the middle of the court to prepare for the next ball. Double fault from the Spaniard and it's deuce. Montanes sneaks the game as Fognini slams another just wide.

He temporarily draws back level, but Montanes gets a match point at last...no luck for the Spaniard; Fognini wellies a backhand down the line. Another chance as the Italian hits lamely into the net. More match points and Fognini can barely move, but he somehow pulls it out of the bag.

MONTANES 6-4 4-6 6-3 3-6 8-7 - Montanes drop shots under a lot of pressure to good effect and Fognini hits the laziest of forehands, not even bothering to move his feet as the Spaniard moves ahead again.
