DJOKOVIC 5-3 BERDYCH. The Serbinator fires a delightful pass down the line after Berdych got to a cunning dropshot to consolidate to 15. The world number one is playing some top tennis at present and is one away from taking the opener.
-
BREAK! - DJOKOVIC 4-3 BERDYCH. The world number one has indeed stepped it up. Some vintage returning including a crosscourt winner to seal the deal to 15 sees him leave Tomas with what is a very familiar feeling when these two lock horns.
-
DJOKOVIC 3-3 BERDYCH. Novak shifts his service game up a gear, breezing to a perfect game.
-
DJOKOVIC 2-3 BERDYCH. Another accomplished hold from Berdych. His win over Ferrer in the previous round has given him confidence and he'll be feeling pretty good about this start.
-
DJOKOVIC 2-2 BERDYCH. Tomas going for his shots but despite being in the game at 30-15 he fires into the right-hand alley and then long of the baseline to allow Nole an easy hold.
-
DJOKOVIC 1-2 BERDYCH. The Birdman is feeling his way into this. He hasn't given Djokovic too many opportunities to turn up the heat and keeps his scoreboard advantage with a game to 15.
-
DJOKOVIC 1-1 BERDYCH. Novak doesn't waste much time getting on the board. He knows he has a psychological edge over Berdych from their head-to-head record and will want to exploit that with some early blows.
-
DJOKOVIC 0-1 BERDYCH. Tomas roars into a 40-0 lead with some big serving but gets a little nervy as Djoker pulls two back. Patience in a lengthy rally gets him over the line for the hold as Djokovic fizzes just long of the baseline.
-
The players are about to complete the warm up. Berdych will get us underway by serving first.
-
HEAD-TO-HEAD: Djoker is on a 10-match winning streak against the Birdman and owns the head-to-head 23-2.
