DJOKOVIC 1-4 - Another forehand mistake from Djokovic brings up 15-40, and Nadal has two chances for a 4-1 lead...it's there! Djokovic puts yet another big forehand wide! Nadal will be thrilled with the start he has made. Two breaks up already!

DJOKOVIC 1-3 - A massive aggresive forehand from Djokovic brings up 0-30 on the Nadal serve and a chance to break back. Nadal then misses a forehand at 15-30 and Djokovic has two breakpoints! Both saved, the second of which was an absolutely superb rally, with both players sending eachother scurrying all across the baseline, but Nadal clinching it with a low forehand into the advantage court. Three errant backhands then hand the game to Nadal in rather tame fashion.

DJOKOVIC 1-2 - Cracking rally at 15-15 won by Nadal with a neat drop volley that opened up the court for an easy winner, after which the Serb frames a forehand to hand Rafa two breakpoints...Djokovic saves the first...before Nadal absolutely rips a backhand pass up the line to seal the first break of the match!!!

DJOKOVIC 1-1 - Massive forehand down the line from Djokovic sees him move to 15-15, and is a warning to Nadal that anything short will be punished. A backhand into the net at 40-30 gives the game to the Spaniard, however.

DJOKOVIC 1-0 - The Djokovic forehand is working well on the evidence of that first game. Four big forehands see him hold to love in the opening game of the match.

Overall Nadal leads the head-to-head 16-8, and 5-1 in finals, though it was Djokovic who prevailed 4-6 6-3 6-2 in Indian Wells recently.

Djokovic, as one might expect of a man on such a run of form, is pretty upbeat about his chances. “I don’t feel that I can’t lose on the court. What I feel is big confidence. What I feel is that I’m playing the best tennis of my life. This is as simple as that.”

Nadal has pretty much laid out his game plan in the lead up to the game: "I felt I had a chance last week in Indian Wells. I lost a little bit of focus and rhythm in the second set, the intensity of the legs and of the shots, so I started to play a little bit more defensively. Against a player like Novak, it’s impossible to win the match playing like this. So on Sunday I have to play very well all match if I want to have any chance. I have to play aggressively and I have to play all the points."

Djokovic has been nothing short of superb in his path through to this final. He is yet to drop a set, and he too made short work of American Mardy Fish in the semi-finals, winning 6-3 6-1.

Matches don't come much more mouth-watering than this. The world number one, versus the best player in the world this year. Djokovic comes into this match on the back of an incredible 23-match winning run this year, while Rafael Nadal was imperious in his 6-3 6-2 victory over Roger Federer in the semi-finals.
