Golovin, who jumped 328 places in 2004, told reporters afterwards: "It's very positive and I'm especially happy that now I'll be seeded at tournaments such as the grand slams so I can play against the best players."
"When you're ranked outside the top 100 it's really hard to play the challengers and the qualifiers, so I'm really happy that I got through that area really fast."
When asked about her outfit, Golovin said: "I like to make it fun."
"We resigned [with Lacoste] so they'll be making all my outfits and I'll have some input so I'm really excited about that."
In the shock result of the day, Australian Samantha Stosur beat fourth seed Karolina Sprem of Croatia 6-4 6-2.
Czech Klara Koukalova ousted Lleyton Hewitt's younger sister Jaslyn 6-4 1-6 6-2.
In other first round action, French compatriot and qualifier Camille Pin defeated Anca Barna 6-2 6-4, while Bulgarian qualifier Sesil Karatantcheva knocked out Maria Elena Camerin of Italy 6-2 6-4.
