Egypt get their 2019 Africa Cup of Nations campaign up and running with a win. However, they will need to improve if they are to win this competition. Zimbabwe gave a good account of themselves and will give other teams problems if they can repeat this performance. Trezeguet's goal was the only moment of real quality.

It looks like Zimbabwe are going to lose this game, but they have given a good account of themselves and they will still fancy their chances of getting out of the group and making the knockout rounds.

Salah started very brightly, but has faded in this second half. He has had chances to find the back of the net, but those chances have been spurned. Nonetheless, he has played well.

That was the opportunity! Rusike might have done better with that! The cross in from the right wing was a good one, but the Zimbabwean sub couldn't get over it and heads high and wide!

Good shot, good save! Salah must have thought that he had scored there. The ball over the top was a good one, Salah's low shot was a testing one, but Chipezeze made a solid diving stop. He still can't get his goal!

Another change from Zimbabwe and it's Musona who comes off late on.

These subs have really disrupted the flow of the game in the final 10 minutes. Is that really what Zimbabwe wanted? They need a goal if they are to claim something from this opener.

And Mushekwi is also coming off for Zimbabwe. He has been playing with a hamstring strain since the first half.

Indeed, there's the goalkeeping change we expected for Zimbabwe.

It seems that Zimbabwe will be forced into a change here. Sibanda has been playing injured for a while and now it appears that the goalkeeper won't be able to continue here.

Good try! Space opened up for Karuru about 25 yards out, but his strike is straight at Al-Shenawi. The midfielder had options on both sides and the shot might not have been the best choice.

There's a feeling of frustration starting to build in the Cairo International Stadium. Many of the home supporters might have expected their team to be home and hosed by this point.

Zimambwe might be behind and might go on to lose this match, but they have already done enough to show that they won't be cannon fodder at this summer's Africa Cup of Nations.
