Good save from Sibanda! That was nearly a carbon copy of the opener from Trezeguet, but this time the Zimbabwe goalkeeper gets a hand out to make the diving save around his post.

He was onside! That's a bad, bad decision from the linesman! Mushekwi was onside and was clean through on goal, but the flag went up on the far side. Alaa knew that he was in trouble.

Hegazi has emerged for the second half with a lot of strapping on his nose. The West Brom defender took a blow to the face in the first half and looked to be in a pretty bad way.

Trezeguet's goal is the difference between the two teams. Zimbabwe won't be too disappointed by the scoreline, but they'll be unhappy that they weren't able to hang on until half time.

The second half is under way! Egypt have a 1-0 lead over Zimbabwe in this AFCON opener.

HALF TIME: Egypt 1-0 Zimbabwe. Trezeguet's goal is the difference between the two teams at the half time interval. Egypt have created the majority of the chances, but Zimbabwe aren't out of this.

Salah... wide! Almost everyone inside the stadium was willing that effort from the Liverpool forward to find the back of the net, but the strike from Salah flashes wide of the far post.

Ironically, that goal came just at the point that Zimbabwe were looking most comfortable in this game. They looked to have weathered the storm, but they created their own problems there.

GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL! Egypt 1 (41 mins - Mahmoud Trezeguet) Zimbabwe 0. The hosts have the opener just a few minutes before the half time. Musona lost possession in a dangerous position, Trezeguet then played a nice one-two to create the shooting opportunity and then bent a lovely finish into the far corner of the net!

Hegazi is back on! It looked like Egypt were going to be forced into a change due to the blood pouring down Hegazi's face, but the West Brom defender is back on the pitch again.

Billiat was in behind! That was a nice idea from Zimbabwe. They took a freekick early, playing a pace in behind for Billiat. But Al-Shenawi came off his line to smother the shot and put it behind for a corner.

Zimbabwe will just want to hold out until half time. They have grown in stature as this first half has progressed and they are now actually giving Egypt some real problems! Impressive.

There is a lot of blood streaming from the nose of Hegazi. The Egypt medical staff are trying to patch him up, but it actually looks like the defender might have to come off here.
