The second half has drifted by quite quickly and without great incident, and Chelsea despite not being at their best look to be strolling to another three points.

Cisse tries a volley after Lucho's set piece bounces back his way - it's a good hit, but he cannot keep it under the bar.

Booking for Mikel - and a pointless one, after he knocks the ball away after tackling his man.

Ramires looks to unleash Anelka, but not this time. The striker has been scoring his goals in braces recently - can he repeat the trick today?

MARSEILLE CLOSE! Lucho's free kick seems to land at Heinze's feet, but he cannot stub the chance past Cech from a couple of yards out and the Chelsea keeper makes the ball his own.

Ayew tries a hit from range. If it was dangerous - and it probably wasn't - the deflection it took off Alex drew the sting out of it.

Sturridge's ball doesn't quite reach the charging Essien but the Ghanaian wins the ball back. That gives Malouda a chance to have a hit from distance but he's slipped it over the bar.

That's the story of the second hald - Chelsea have been far from their best, but when the Blues string play together they are capable of making their visitors look ordinary.
