Marseille, if you've not been following the French league this season, are currently 7th in Ligue 1. They've won three, drawn two and lost two in the league. Things have been picking up, though - they've won their last two fixtures, home to Sochaux and away at Arles-Avignon.

Will Chelsea's recent wobble affect them tonight? They've lost 3-4 to Newcastle in the League Cup and 1-0 on the road at Manchester City. They lost their last home game in the Champions League, too - although they've managed to win a league and cup double since that Inter defeat, of course.
19:30
One man not especially excited to be at Stamford Bridge tonight, however, is Souleymane Diawara of Marseille: "I played there (at Stamford Bridge) twice and I was not that impressed by the atmosphere." Can't please everyone.
19:25
Not such an easy task tonight, of course. Didier Deschamps has beaten Chelsea in the Champions League with Monaco back in 2004. And he loves coming back to the Bridge, too. The only problem he has? The away changing rooms.

From the mind of the ever-enlightening OptaJoe on Twitter: "14 - Chelsea have kept 14 clean sheets in their last 17 Champions League Group Stage matches at Stamford Bridge. Canter."

The other game in the group is drawing to a close - and Spartak are leading 3-0 as we move into stoppage time.
19:10
In the first round of games in this year's Champions League Chelsea travelled to Zilina and hammered their hosts 4-1. Marseille were not so successful - they slumped to a 1-0 defeat at home to Spartak Moscow.
19:05
Didier Deschamps has been in charge of Marseille since July 2009. And in that time the Frenchman has led the team to their first Ligue 1 title for the best part of 20 years. Not a bad start -

HEAD TO HEAD: Just two meetings between the sides - and they were ten years ago, back in the days when the Champions League had two group stages (remember those?). At Stamford Bridge, Dennis Wise scored the only goal as Chelsea took the spoils - in France one Robert Pires struck to separate the sides and give Marseille the win.
18:55
Teams already in - it's a strong-looking Chelsea line-up, albeit without Didier Drogba and Frank Lampard. Marseille have Diawara back in their team - the former Bolton man has only recently returned from injury.
