The Czech minnows are bottom of the group without yet picking up a point, but they are the Gambrinus Liga champions. Furthermore, they won 6-1 at the weekend to gain some confidence. They still sit seven points behind leaders Sparta Prague, however.

This pre-match chatter is unlikely to make Plzen fans feel much better, but here goes... In the reverse fixture a fortnight ago, Bayern won 5-0 and had a mammoth 35 shots, the most in any Champions League game this season. Their opponents had one, the least.

What else can you say about Bayern? Well, here's a rather frightening statistic for you - since they last lost a Bundesliga match they have scored 95 league goals. That's just greedy.

Bayern tonight have a chance not only to reach the knockout stage but also equal the Champions League record of nine consecutive victories.
