More slapstick defending from the hosts, who struggle to put an accurate pass together at the back as Droga almost takes advantage.

Just when the game looked to be fizzling out, Chelsea hit Schalke with two more goals. It's cruel, it really is. If this was boxing it would have been stopped ages ago. Drogba and Ramires, both on as substitues, just couldn't resist getting in on the act.

Fabregas makes way for Andre Schurrle, his work well and truly done.

GOAL! It's 5! Two goals in two minutes for Chelsea and Drogba turns provider, standing up a cross for Ramires to nod home at the back post.

GOAL! If it wasn't already a perfect night for Chelsea it is now. Club legend Drogba gets the goal after Willian, one on one, slipped it unselfishly into his path for a tap-in.

It's Oscar who makes way for Ramires.

Hazard is back in his own third and winning the ball back for Chelsea. Their creativity in attack is breathtaking enough, but the way Chelsea's midfielders work back is so impressive.

Azpilicueta whacks Hoger with his right leg and both man are down injured.

The build-up play in and around the edge of the box is fantastic from Chelsea. Oscar plays a give and go with Hazard and they're just too quick, mentally and physically, for their opponents.

A change for Chelsea now as Costa is given a rest and Didier Drogba comes on. He and Roberto Di Matteo have some good memories togther, don't they.

Another change for Schalke as Boateng, who's had a stinker, is replaced by Max Meyer.

More Chelsea pressure and yet another chance for them to score. Oscar cuts onto his right foot in the box but his shot is blocked. The ball then falls for Costa who can't make a clean connection on the volley.

So close! Ivanovic is centimetres away from scoring an unbelievable volley. Hazard chips it over for Willian, who crosses for Ivanovic at the back post and the Serb walks onto it and puts his laces through it on the full, sending it agonisingly over the upright.

Schalke lose the ball in the Chelsea third and Chelsea break through Fabregas, who plays a ball over the top for Costa. The Spanish international latches onto it, cuts back inside but Hoger nicks the ball off his feet before he can shoot.
