This is over, right? O-V-E-R, OVER. 4-1 to Barca, Barca have Messi, do me a favour. Except sometimes it looks like that's all they've got. In the first leg they were slow, predictable, suspect at the back, and needed two own goals to set them away, while Roma now know they can compete and with the backing of a wild home crowd, if they can score first, might just fancy themselves. It's over, but it's not OVER.

By the way, at the Etihad, Pep Guardiola was sent off at half-time for what looked like offering out the ref.

Do Roma let things go, given they're on top, or do they look to change things? El Shaarawy perhaps?

Florenzi drives a clearance into Jordi Alba, who puts fingers in face, so Florenzi goes down like he's been torpedoed. Eventually he recovers and the game continues with Roma all over it.

Fazio sees Messi away then runs into him, but he keeps at it and eventually imparts the crucial poke.

Dzeko does really well to control a high ball on the outside of his foot, too strong for Umtiti before sweeping a pass out to Florenzi on the right, Mark Hughes-style. Florenzi crosses towards the far post and Ter Stegen comes then goes, but there's no one on hand to pick it up immediately. Roma do find Florenzi again, but this time he crosses straight at Sergi Roberto.

Barca are trying to slow things down, but Roma are harassing their back four into going long, winning the ball in the air or the second ball, and pouring it on again.

Away we go again! Roma are so up for this, lined up at halfway and charging!

The players are back. What has Valverde done, if anything?

An excellent half from Roma, who've been fast, hard and brave. If Barcelona can't get more control in midfield, it's going to be a long second half for them, because they're offering nothing in attack.

Yes, i really did use the phrase early bath. Bite me.

Messi gets the behind Jesus, so Jesus boots him across the heels and seems to enjoy so doing, as you would. he's booked, which makes it two of Roma's back three within one mistimed challenge of an early bath.

Dzeko attacks Pique down the left of the box, and the defender does really well to put a foot across the path of the ball. Dzeko goes down, and a penalty is politely requested, but the ref is having no such thing. Well played him.

Messi's scored a record number of free-kicks this season, but his two efforts tonight have been wack. He spanks this one well over the bar - perhaps this'll be a Beckham v Greece situation, where he messes them up until he doesn't.

There's a pause while various Roma harangue the ref.

Fazio leaps over Suarez to win a header, so Suarez goes down with a squeal and Fazio is booked. That looked harsh to me, and now Messi has a free-kick, 25 yards out, marginally left of centre...

Here come Roma again, Florenzi accepting a long pass out on the right and curving a hanging cross on the half-volley ... Dzeko is all over Semedo at the back post, bumping a header that Ter Stegen has to tip over. The corner comes to nothing.

The other thing is that 4-4-2 gives them no control in midfield, so they're hoping Messi does something, and that they don't concede while they wait.

Maybe Barca need to bring on Dembele, because they've not got an out ball at the moment, nor anyone looking interested in creating a chance.

Barca are ragged! Nainggolan breaks through midfield and shoots into Shick's heels ... he does a pretty good job of controlling to deliver into stride, but can't quite finish on the slide and stretch. If Roma can score again before half-time, they'll do this.
