That was a fairly fun half in the end. For a while it looked like Madrid would mash Dortmund into tiny pieces, but after about 25 minutes they remembered that they're quite good and fought back well.

Clever from Isco, who gets to the line and, with the defenders expecting a cross, cuts back for Mayoral. The ball is actually a little behind him, so he has at it from around his left buttick, sending a shot just wide.

Varane hurt himself trying to foil Aubameyang, so is replaced by Asensio. Nacho moves into the middle of defence, Lucas Vasquez goes to right-back - ha ha, as Nelson muntz would say - and Asensio goes up front.

And then Bartra turns up outside the box, dead centre, and with Ramos stepping up for no reason, slides a pass through for Aubameyang. He really ought to score, but as Varane shuffles a cross, he drags a rushed effort wide. Poor.

It's gone quiet, but as I type that, Guerreiro finds space down the left, lots of it, and directs a low cross that Aubameyang only just fails to reach. Dortmund retrieve the ball, though, and Pulisic cuts in from the right and spanks a low shot that Navas palms out on the dive.
