Larne suffer extra-time Champions League exit at hands of HJK, Qarabag and Astana through to next round

Azerbaijani side Qarabag FK beat Gibraltar outfit Lincoln Red Imps 4-0 to reach the second qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday evening, while Northern Ireland's Larne fell just short in extra time against HJK. Georgian side Dinamo Tbilisi lost 2-1 to Astana after the two sides were level at 1-1 after the first match in Kazakhstan.

Larne were knocked out of the UEFA Champions League after a first qualifying round aggregate defeat to HJK on Wednesday night.
The home side trailed 1-0 after the first leg, and when Tuomas Ollila scored after 26 minutes the deficit were doubled.
However goals from Lee Bonis on 65 minutes and then Joe Thomas with three minutes of normal time remaining forced extra-time.
The Northern Irish side had their hearts broken when Shaun Want's 96th minute own goal gave HJK a 3-2 victory overall.
Qarabag FK defeated Lincoln Red Imps 4-0 to reach the second qualifying round.
The Azerbaijani team were level at 1-1 after the first leg in Gibraltar, but goals from Abdellah Zoubir, Bahlul Mustafazada, Redon Xhixha and Marko Jankovic secured a 5-1 aggregate win.
In Hungary, Ludogorets had a brace from Bernard Tekpetey and a goal each from Matias Tissera and Caio Vidal to overcome a 2-0 deficit against Ballkani, winning 4-0 on the night.
Another Hungarian side were less fortunate as Ferencvaros took a goalless draw from KI back home, only to lose 3-0 with two goals from Arni Frederiksberg, and another from Luc Kassi.
Swift Hesperange were knocked out against Slovan Bratislava 3-1 on aggregate after two penalties in the second half from Vladimir Weiss - the first a cheeky Panenka - gave the Slovak side a 2-0 away win.

Georgian side Dinamo Tbilisi lost 2-1 to Astana after the sides were level at 1-1 after the first leg. Ousmane Camara opened the scoring for Dinamo in the first leg, but goals in the 50th and 51st minute, from Abzal Beysebekov and Dembo Darboe won the tie for the away team.
Valmiera were beaten 2-1 for the second tie in a row against Olimpija, with the away goal scoring the first two goals, first through Rui Pedro and then Ahmet Muhamedbegovic, before Camilo Mena pulled one back for the home side.
