FULL TIME: Barcelona 5-0 Elche. Enrique's side will take a commanding lead into the second leg, despite the recent troubles the Camp Nou club have faced off the pitch. Job done.

It's almost as if Rakitic is trying too hard to force amazing passes in behind the Elche defence, even when they're not really on. This time he plays the ball straight out as he tried to find Alves. Whoops.

The sparse crowd inside the Camp Nou gives a rendition of the famous Barcelona anthem. Their team has played much better tonight, but there is still a sense of the troubles bubbling under the surface.

Alves is pushing up the right wing, even at this late stage of the game. The Brazilian full-back loves providing an outlet on the attack, playing as more of a winger than a full-back at times.

Barcelona are actually playing a more direct style in these final 10 minutes or so. Pedro and Suarez are quite far apart from each other up front, with Rakitic and Samper playing the balls into the channels.

That just demonstrated the threat Barcelona have when they come forward at pace. Elche were in a good position there, defensively, but they were still picked apart by the brilliance of Suarez.

I was just waiting for the ball to hit the net! Suarez plays through Pedro with a great through ball, but the Barcelona number seven chips his shot just wide of the far post. Should have scored.

Barcelona are now playing this game out at their own pace, which is what they have been doing for much of the second half. Elche started quite well but have faded badly as the game progressed.

Great save from Tyton! Messi whips a wicked freekick towards goal from a tight angle, but the Elche goalkeeper gets there at full stretch to palm the effort away from his goal. Good stop!

YELLOW CARD: Sergio Pelegrin (Elche)

With that change Mascherano will drop into the centre-back role, with Samper taking his position in the centre of midfield. Samper is highly thought of at Barcelona. Can he impress in these final 10 minutes or so?

Why is Messi still on the pitch? It's almost as if Enrique is scared to sub the number 10 after the reaction to him being dropped for the game against Real Sociedad at the weekend.

Right on cue, Rakitic overhits a pass, which should have been simple enough, out to Adriano. The Croatian will be disappointed with how the contest has largely passed him by.

Alhough Barcelona have been much better tonight, Rakitic and Roberto haven't exactly made the most of their chance. In fact, I'd say Messi has been the more impressive midfielder tonight, and he's not even a midfielder!

The tempo has dropped out of this game since the changes were made by both teams. Neymar brought much of the intensity to the contest, but Barcelona aren't playing with the same gusto now that he has been subbed.

Ter Stegen has had very little to do tonight, so although he looks set to keep his clean sheet he has hardly had a chance to impress, with Bravo dropped to the bench for this match.
