This has been an excellent five minutes or so for Barcelona. This is more like it from them. They have injected some intensity to their play and Elce simply can't deal with them like this.

What a fantastic goal from Messi, but the flag is up for offside! Indeed, the number 10 was beyond the last man when Mascherano played the ball over the top, with Messi taking it on his knee before firing on the volley off the underside of the bar.

That was a huge chance for Barcelona to make it 3-0! Roco slips on the ball, allowing Neymar to break through on goal, but the Brazilian somehow puts his effort wide of the far post.

Just seconds before Suarez found the net he passed up another golden chance, making the most of a kind deflection to break through on goal. But Tyton made the save to prevent the striker from lobbing him.

GOOOOOOOAL! Barcelona 2 (40 mins - Luis Suarez) Elche 0. And the home side have doubled their advantage! Suarez creates a chance for himself, cutting inside off the left side to finish past Tyton.

The atmosphere inside the Camp Nou pretty much sums up the situation at Barcelona right now. They are a torn club, so while some are right behind Enrique others are calling for his head.

That goal should settle the nerves inside the Camp Nou. Barcelona have struggled for much of the match and certainly haven't been at their best. Elche will be disappointed they couldn't hold on for half time.

Suarez did really well to sort out his feet in time to play that pass across goal for Neymar. The former Liverpool striker has contributed a fair number of assists for Barcelona this season.

GOOOOOOAL! Barcelona 1 (35 mins - Neymar) Elche 0. Barcelona finally have the breakthrough! Suarez plays a pass across the six yard box for Neymar to finish into the empty net.

There's just no intensity from Barcelona right now. When they're at their best Barca pass the ball around with such pace and tempo, but there is none of that on show at the moment.

Of course, this is also a big chance for Roberto, who has reportedly asked for more first team opportunities in the second half of the season. Well, he has that chance tonight and must take it.

How about this for a statistic! Suarez has only had 10 touches of the ball in these entire game; the lowest number of any Barcelona player on the pitch. He's struggling to get involved.

Much of Barcelona's play is coming down the left side. Alba is pushed very high up on that side, with Neymar drifting out there to pick up the ball and drive inside at every opportunity.

That was Barcelona's best chance of the match so far. Suarez was lurking at the back post, ready to tap in Neymar's shot, but it drifted just beyond the former Liverpool striker.

That was close! Messi plays a wonderful pass through to Neymar, getting in behind the Elche backline, but the Brazilian puts his half volley wide of the target. He tried to lob it over the goalkeeper.
