If this tie wasn't dead before kick-off, it certainly is now. Espanyol's away goal has been wiped off the slate and now they trail 5-1 in this round of 16 Copa Del Rey encounter.

Espanyol are unhappy with the referee for allowing that goal to stand. They feel that Rakitic fouled Sevilla earlier in the move, but the officials were right to permit play to continue.

NOT TOO FAR AWAY FOR ESPANYOL! Ciani meets the near post delivery from a corner kick, but he only succeeds in heading his effort past the target. That had Ter Stegen worried.

That's what they did well in the first leg, when Asensio and Caicedo combined so well on the rapid break to give the away side the lead at the Camp Nou. Can they do that again?

Espanyol seem quite happy to allow Barcelona to have possession of the ball and counter as hard and as quick as they can whenever they win it back. Which isn't often...

Roberto is dictating things in the centre of the pitch for Barcelona, and it's illustrative of how important he has become to the Catalans this season. His career has done a complete turn.

Vermaelen has been favoured in the centre-back position by Enrique for this evening's game, with the Barcelona boss opting for the Belgian as third choice over the likes of Mathieu and Bartra.

MESSI GETTING CLOSER AND CLOSER! This time the Argentine drives through the centre of the pitch, sending a curling effort towards goal - but Bardi makes sure with a diving stop.

The home side are enjoying a good spell of possession, but they aren't really doing anything with it. Barcelona are finding it easy to repel them on the edge of their own box.

MUNIR HEADS WIDE! Messi plays a wonderful, flighted cross into the penalty area, but Munir can't quite climb high enough and the young striker plants his header past the far post.

The tempo of this match has slowed down in the last few minutes, and that might be of Barcelona's making. They are the ones in control and dictating the pace of the contest.

Nice play from Barcelona... until the ball found itself at the feet of Alves. Messi, Munir and Suarez exchanged some neat passes on the edge of the box before the full-back blasted over.

The away side seem to have taken a grip of this game after a fast and furious start by Espanyol. They have kept them at arm's length and are now suffocating them. Typical Barca.

This is also a big opportunity for Munir, who has fallen out of the first team reckoning since Messi's return to fitness. He didn't quite make the most of that chance, but he has another one here.

Mathieu is playing on the left side of the defensive line, with the French international being asked to play up and down that side of the pitch. It's not really a role he's naturally suited to.

Turan has been handed a start by Enrique this evening. The Turkish international has settled into things nicely at his new club, setting up Messi for a goal in the weekend's win over Granada.

That was just a bit wild! The ball fell to Jordan about 25 yards out after a botched clearance by the Barcelona defence, but he gets it all wrong and lashes his effort high and wide.
