HALF TIME: Real Madrid 2-1 Girona. The early goal gave Real Madrid a shot in the arm and their response to falling behind has been quite impressive. Girona lucky to still be in this game.

Outside of the post! So close to being a third for Real Madrid in this first half. Benzema took aim from 20 yards out, but with Iraizoz beaten the ball clips the outside of the woodwork.

This has actually been a pretty good performance from Real Madrid. There has been a sense in recent weeks that Solari might finally be finding a winning formula.

In truth, Real Madrid deserve to be leading heading into the half time break. They have been the better of the two teams, with the Girona opener coming against the run of play.

Lozano injury! The Girona man is down on the ground. He was actually injured by his own teammate Luiz, who accidentally put an elbow into the throat of the goalscorer. Ouch.
