The Lions have kept just one clean sheet in their seven matches, against Malta, who have only scored only one goal in the qualifying campaign.

    Italy have yet to lose a game in Group H, conceding just five goals in their seven matches and keeping three clean sheets in their four wins and three draws. However, the Azzurri have netted just 10 times during the campaign.

    The sides drew 2-2 in the reverse fixture in March, with Eder netting an 84th minute equaliser at the Vasil Levski National Stadium after goals from Popov and Micanski had put Bulgaria ahead.

    Bulgaria coach Ivaylo Petev has made two changes from the side that lost 1-0 to Norway in Sofia on Thursday. Veselin Minev replaces Ivan Bandalovski at right back, while Todor Nedelev comes in for Stanislav Manolev in midfield.

    The Azzurri lie in second place in the group and come into the match on the back of a ponderous 1-0 win over Malta in Florence on Thursday, while Bulgaria lie in fourth place after a 1-0 defeat to Norway in Sofia.

    Italy coach Antonio Conte has made five changes to the starting eleven that started the match against Malta at the Stadio Artemio Franchi on Thursday. Mattia De Sciglo comes in for Manuel Pasqual at left back, the only change in the back five. Andrea Bertolacci is back in Milan undergoing further tests on the injury he picked up against Malta, so Marco Verratti deputises in midfield. Daniele De Rossi comes in for Andrea Pirlo, while Eder and Manolo Gabbiadini are replaced up front by Stephan El Shaarawy and Antonio Candreva.
