GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL! Scotland 1 (30 mins - Mats Hummels) Germany 1. SCOTLAND HAVE EQUALISED! Maloney whips a freekick into the near post, only for Neuer to weakly palm out the cross into Hummels, who deflects it into his own net.

Was that a penalty kick? Can manhandles Mulgrew following a flick-on, and the refreee indeed decides that it was a foul. But was Mulgrew inside the area when the foul was made?

That's a high challenge from Gundogan. The Borussia Dortmund was late in on the Scotland captain. Isn't it supposed to be the other way around with Brown - Scotland's Joey Barton?

Scotland need to get more support in behind Fletcher. The Sunderland man just has no option when he does receive the ball. How long does Strachan expect him to hold the ball up for?

Maloney makes a clever run in behind the German defence and into the channel, but the reverse pass from Mulgrew can't quite find the Hull City man. Good idea from Scotland, though.

One of Scotland's best performances of the campaign was against Germany in Dortmund. They lost 2-1 but they were impressive - they could use some of that right now.

That was a dismal freekick delivery from Mulgrew. The Celtic man angles a cross into the penalty area, but it's far too close to Neuer and the Germany keeper makes the easy catch.

That was unfortunate on Scotland. Muller's shot didn't really have all that much on it, but the deflection wrongfooted Marshall. But they shouldn't have allowed him into a shooting position.

GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL! Scotland 0 Germany 1 (18 mins - Thomas Muller). There's the opening goal for the world champions. Muller skips through the midfield, fires off the shot at goal - which takes a wicked deflection off Martin and finds the corner.
21'
That was a shame. Morrison did really well to dribble past the challenge of a couple German midfielders on the counter attack, but his pass out to Forrest was far too strong.

It's somewhat surprising that Steven Fletcher has kept his place in the starting lineup for this game, given how poor he was against Georgia. Should Strachan have gone with Leigh Griffiths?

Elsewhere in the group, Poland are aleady 2-0 up against Gibraltar, with Republic of Ireland and Georgia still drawing 0-0 in Dublin. Scotland do with an away win in that game.

This is very patient play from Germany. Scotland are allowing them to pass around the midfield, but when the chance is there the home side step in to make the challenge at the right time.

Maloney has been something of a talisman for Scotland throughout this qualifying campaign, coming up with some really important goals, but he was stopped by Can on this ocassion.
15'
There was some confusion in the Germany camp ahead of the game. Loew was under the impression that the pitch would be watered up until kick-off, when in actual fact they stopped watering it an hour before.
14'
Scotland started well, pressing high up the pitch on Germany any time they had the ball. But the world champions are starting to settle into their game and the hosts are slipping deeper, now.
