Lovely link-up between Martial and Greenwood, but Greenwood can't quite find the space for a shot or killer pass.

Rashford goes low, driving towards the far post, but sends his effort a yard or two wide.

United dart a ball into Martial, who takes it well on the half-turn, and is immediately fouled. Free-kick United, 30 yards out, slightly right of centre. Rashford fancies it...

The pattern has been set, United probing, Copenhagen chasing.

Pogba lasers a lovely long ball out to Wan-Bissaka, who crosses to the back post ... and Bruno is there, but Martial forgets his new self and is on his heels when the knockback arrives.

United are starting to move the ball nicely. It looks like Copenhagen will sit off their back four - understandable, but not how the teams who've had success against United recently have had that success.

Fred breaks up play and sends Rashford and Martial away, but they don't quite read one another.

It's been decided that it's hot enough for water breaks at the midway point of each half.

The question for Copenhagen is how they go about stopping United. Though United have got good at picking through massed defences, that's still the best way of stymieing them, and though they've got other good players besides Bruno Fernandes, stopping him is still the best way of stopping them.

I wonder a little about the balance of United's midfield - Fred isn't really reliable, and doesn't necessarily give the security that allows Pogba to get forward. He was far too deep towards the end of the league season, so was a lot less effective - especially against West Ham, when Matic was frequently left to playmake - though was much better at Leicester in the final game.

Is that because he melts when the heat's on?

I should say, the winners tonight meet Wolves or Sevilla in the semis. I should also say that if i have to watch another United-Wolves game, I'll do time.
