Something exciting is happening! Dele Alli is about to come on for Spurs!

Spurs now winning this match in one department for the first time. Their fans are making more noise!

A good run now from Winks and Spurs with a little momentum. Son and Janssen are in the box but the cross is well read by Chester.
53'
Only one shot on goal for Spurs so far. Tells its own story of the match. Drab.

CHANCE! Trippier finds Son and he controls it close to goal before totally scuffing his shot.

Chances of a VIlla goal? Unlikely. They have only won two away games in the last 34 attempts, against Reading in October and QPR a week before Christmas. The Villans are the lowest scorers away from home in the Championship with seven goals in 13 matches.

Sissoko does well to dig out a cross but comfortably dealt with by Johnstone under his own bar. Not been tested yet.

A goal would certainly spark this into life. Spurs score and it will make Villa chase. Villa nick one and we may see Dele sooner rather than later.

Sissoko higher on the left already. No changes for either side after the break. Janssen shoots on goal but straight at the keeper.

Back underway here at White Hart Lane and let’s hope for a more entertaining second half. Precious little to write home about so far.

The whistle blows exactly on 45 minutes and that's the end of the half.

Janssen again isolated and Jedinak does well to nip it away from him. Agbonlahor aggrieved at not being awarded a corner and he’s right!

CLOSE! A good build up from Spurs and Amavi almost deflects Son’s effort into his own net but it’s out for another corner.

Spurs have not been beaten at home in the third round of the FA Cup since losing a replay 1-0 to Aston Villa in 1992 (as holders). Dwight Yorke got Villa's goal.

Spurs win another corner after good work from Davies. Played short this time but dealt with comfortably by Villa.

Janssen works himself into a good position but rushes his cross and it’s easy for Johnstone again.
