That's it, Manchester City are into the semi-finals of the EFL Cup. There's a warm embrace between Guardiola and Robinson at the final whistle; the home side put in a great effort but were ultimately outclassed by the defending champions.

Long brilliantly finds Sykes in the City area, but the cut-back from the substitute can't locate an Oxford player again.

Fosu again works his way into a shooting position on the left. It's from a narrow angle and Bravo punches it straight back out into the centre of goal, where there are no Oxford players to take advantage.

The last change for Oxford as Mousinho replaces Baptiste. What a flurry of chances for Oxford in the last five minutes; they've been dominated for the most part but have created enough clear cut chances to get something from it.

AND ANOTHER CHANCE! A long cross to the back post finds Sykes. He connects well but puts it straight at Bravo from 8 yards out, and the goalkeeper palms it to safety.

ANOTHER CHANCE! Oxford are bullying City's young centre-backs here. From a header in the box Mackie rolls Garcia, but can only launch his shot over the bar from 7 yards when it looked like he was certain to score.

CHANCE! Dickie should have scored here. The corner picks him out perfectly and from 8 yards out he climbs above everyone, but can only head the ball straight down and into the hands of Bravo.

Cancelo and Mackie are having a brouhaha here after. Mackie kicked out at Cancelo for some reason as Oxford were setting up for a corner. The referee has words, everyone realises they're adults and we carry on.

A half-chance for Oxford from a long throw-in. It falls to Brannigan, who lays it off to Fosu. His drive is well blocked by Cancelo from 7 yards out and City clear.

A loose ball at the back by City almost lets Sykes in, but his first touch is heavy and rockets through to Bravo.

Mahrez is released in acres on the right. He dances past two and shoots from 20 yards, but launches it high and wide. Another change for City, as Bernabe replaces Sterling.

Mackie replaces Taylor for Oxford.

OFF THE POST! Cancelo nearly has his second of the night. With Oxford tiring, he gets into space on the right of the penalty area and thunders a right-footed drive off Archer's near post and out.

It's over, surely. City catch Oxford on the break. Bernardo chips a through ball to Jesus, who is in behind the Oxford defence. He takes it into the area and squares it to Sterling, giving the City captain his second tap-in and second goal of the night.

A prolonged spell of possession for City here, that's taking the sting out of Oxford's resurgence since going behind.

Gundogan slides a ball through to Mahrez to chip over Archer and score, but he's several yards offside.

Brannigan's corner clears everyone and falls to Fosu at the back of the penalty area. He shoots but he's not balanced, and slashes it over the top.

Sykes has looked up for this since his introduction, and wins a corner for Oxford.
