First shot on goal from Costa but after dropping back to about 10 yards out from goal to receive the pass from Luis on the left wing he scoops his shot well over the crossbar. Good idea though.

This has been a very open start to the game. Both sides are attacking, with Betis looking especially dangerous down the left side. Atletico need to be careful here.

Good block! Turan digs out a cross from the byline to find Garcia inside the box, but on the volley from about eight yards out the Spanish attacker sees his effort blocked by Amaya. He needed to make that!

Well that was interesting from Juan Carlos. Chica intercepts the ball at the back, playing the ball to the Betis left back, who spots Courtois off his line and shoots towards goal. However, the Belgian scrambles back to make the save.

Now Betis have their first sight of goal but Juanfran fires wide of the target, Courtois wasn't particularly worried by that, but good to see the home side having a go.

First chance for Koke to get the ball into the box but his setpiece delivery is poor and Juan Carlos can clear easily as the first man.

So can Atletico Madrid claim top spot in La Liga for a few hours before the Clasico tonight? A win here in Sevilla will take Diego Simeone's side top of the pile, although Real could overtake them again with a point.
