Gonzalez has played well at the back for Real Sociedad tonight. He normally doesn't play there. He usually plays in the centre of midfield, but has been solid so far tonight against Atletico.

Turan tries to drive his team forward, taking a shot from the best part of 30 yards. But despite the effort dipping in front of him, Zubikarai makes the stop from the Atletico player.

Even the Atletico Madrid frontline seem to be on a different wavelength so far. Things just aren't clicking for the Spanish league champions right now. There's no fluidity to their play.

The left side of the Atletico Madrid defence are really struggling here with Vela. It's strange to see a Simeone side struggle at the back, but so far this game been a difficult game for them.

Juanfran comes surging down the right wing as he often does for Atletico Madrid, but the full-back loses control of the ball and Yuri nips in to claim it, winning the freekick in the process.

Koke needs to get himself into the game more. He has been quiet so far, allowing Real Sociedad to dictate the play around the centre of midfield. That needs to change in the final hour or so.

Simeone looks angry on the touchline. He isn't barking instuctions at his team, as he so often does, but is simmering. I wouldn't want to be an Atletico Madrid player at the break if they can't score by then.

The home side have the chance to mount a counter attack at pace, but Agirretxe uses the ball really poorly and passes the ball out of play when he shoul have found Castro with ease.

This is turning into a really good game. Real Sociedad have responded well to going a goal down and at this moment they are probably the better of the two teams. Fantastic turnaround.

Looking at replays, it seems to me that Atletico Madrid were lucky to get away without conceding a penalty kick. Juanfran certainly trod on the foot of Vela. There was no touch on the ball.

Wow! Big call from the referee. Vela goes down in the penalty area under the challenge of Juanfran, but the man in black decides to book the Sociedad player for what he views to be simulation.

Sociedad are holding their own at the moment. After a difficult start to the game they have really come back into the contest and are repelling the advances of the Atletico frontline.

Castro wriggles a yard or two of space on the left side to get the cross into the penalty area, but the ball is just a little too close to Moya and the Atletico Madrid keeper collects.
