The freekick is whipped into the Real Sociedad box, with every single player for the home side back inside the penalty area. The cross is cleared with Godin lurking at the back post.

Garcia wins a freekick in a dangerous position 30 yards after a late challenge from Granero, and we know how dangerous Atletico Madrid are from set pieces. This could cause a problem for Sociedad.

Turan takes control of the ball down the right and sets himself for the cross. But his lofted pass into Mandzukic, who is lurking on the last defender, is cut out by Martinez in the box.

Of coure, Griezmann was such a key figure for Real Sociedad last season but has to make do with a place on the bench tonight. Which is surprising given the form he has been in recently.

Atletico Madrid are in good form coming into this game. They have won seven of their 10 Liga games and have won five of their last five games in all competitions. Will it be six out of six?

Sociedad are currently slumped in 19th place in the Liga table at the moment. They should be doing much better than that given the standard of the squad they have.

Of course, there is a focus on Real Sociedad tonight as well following reports that David Moyes could be set to take over at the club as early as tomorrow. Could the Scot return to football in Spain?

If Atletico Madrid can pick up all three points at the Anoeta tonight they will leapfrog Barcelona into second place in the Spanish Liga table. They need to keep up with Real Madrid.
