It's not often that you see that. A Barcelona attacking move breaks down after Messi misplaces a pass. He wasn't expecting Rakitic to make the run and the ball was played behind him.

Dembele is the one who gets his name on the score sheet, but that goal was all about Messi. It was his exceptional pass out to Alba that created the opportunity for Barcelona.

Alba picked out Messi, his shot was saved by Ruben in the Celta Vigo goal, but Dembele was on hand to finish the rebound, squeezing the finish home.

That was quite the pass from Pique, who managed to pick out the run of Alba down the left side from deep. Celta Vigo defend the cross, but that was nice play from the centre back.

Messi has been in exceptional form in recent weeks. He scored a hat trick against Levante last week and bagged a brace against Espanyol the game before that. On fire.

It's been a rather subdued start to the match at Camp Nou. Barcelona have probably edged it so far, but it feels like both teams are just feeling their way into things right now.

Dembele keeps his place in the Barcelona team for this game. The French winger has hit a vein of good form in recent weeks and looks to have finally earned the faith of Valverde.

Celta Vigo possess the quality to trouble even the best teams in La Liga. They always seem to raise their game whenever they come up against the big sides, like Barcelona.

So this is Barcelona's last game of 2018. Atletico Madrid drew level with Barca at the top of La Liga with a 1-0 win earlier today, so the Catalans will want to re-establish their lead.
