I expected that Eibar might come out for the second half at a lightning pace, but this has been a wary start to the second period by both teams. Not a great deal happening right now.

The officials used the VAR to check whether or not the linesman's call on Suarez's goal was correct and indeed it was the right call. Suarez's head was just offside when the pass was played.

GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO... NO! Messi and Suarez play a lovely one-two with the latter chipping a wonderful finish over Dmitrovic. The flag goes up, though. Suarez was just offside. Not much in it, though.

There really wasn't much between the two teams in the opening 45 minutes, but Eibar lacked cutting edge in the final third of the pitch. They must show ruthlessness to claim something.

I said towards the end of the first half that Barcelona were struggling for width down the right side. Well, it seems that Valverde agreed. The introduction of Semedo should help with this.

Valverde has made a change to his Barcelona team at the break with Semedo coming on for Roberto at right back.

HALF TIME: Eibar 0-1 Barcelona. Griezmann's goal is the difference between the two teams. It has been an entertaining first half. Eibar have threatened and could well score and make things difficult for Barca.

Alba is getting a talking to from the referee. The Barcelona left back screamed at the fourth official after what he felt was a yellow card challenge. Charles got booked for something similar...

Dmitrovic kept Eibar in this game with that save from Messi about 10 minutes ago. The goalkeeper has looked sharp and has managed to keep his team in this contest to this point.

Barcelona could do with more width on the right side. On the left they have Alba to help out Griezmann, but Roberto doesn't attack in the same way down the opposite flank.

Eibar have threatened at times in this first half, but they have lacked any sort of cutting edge in front of goal. That's something they must work on in the second half if they are to claim a result.

Some questions have been asked of the understanding between Griezmann, Messi and Suarez. Indeed, Griezmann sometimes seems to be a spare part. At times he even gets in the way.

Messi goes down inside the penalty box, but there wasn't enough in that to award the spot kick. The Barcelona number 10 felt a shove in his back as he tried to control a ball.
