Remy has a battle with Gabbidon as he tries to get into the box - ball goes off for a Newcastle throw, and there's a chance for Newcastle! Anita puts a cross in that finds Gouffran, but Mariappa cuts the ball out before it reaches Gouffran.

Newcastle try to hit on the break, but Gouffran's effort is straight at Speroni; good pressure from Gabbidon helped put the striker off.

Good work by Jerome tracking back - he takes the ball and opens up an attacking move that almost sees Chamakh beat three men. The ball falls to Puncheon who gets a shot in - but it's deflected away by Coloccini.
