Today is a landmark for Hull City manager Steve Bruce, who takes charge of his 700th game today after having worked at a number of clubs including Wigan, Birmingham and Sunderland previously.
6'
Wayne Roony taks a shot from range. Di Maria plays a little back and forth with his captain who then receives the ball, looks up and tries a driving shot aimed at the far post. It's not on target however and flies out for a goal kick.
4'
Of course, that means that Young and Valencia are playing as full-backs further back: a bold decision against a team who work as hard as Hull City, especially down the flanks. Hull perhaps haven't made their squad upgrades of the summer count as much as they should have so far. Maybe today they can make their increased quality count against a United side that still look like a work-in-progress.

Van Gaal kept his opponents on their toes with a goalkeeping switch at the World Cup. Has the wiley Dutchman pulled off a similarly sneaky switcheroo at Old Trafford today? Having sent Carrick out to warm up with the defenders before the match he is now most definitely playing as the midfield anchor.
2'
The ball flies into the box but a Hull player gets to the delivery. There are protests of handball but Taylor isn't interested, with the ball pouring back out into the other half of the field.
1'
Angel Di Maria wins the first corner of the game, having dribbled down the right hand side of the final third only to see his attempted cross deflected out. Robin van Persie heads to the corner flag to take it.
1'
Referee Anthony Taylor blows his whistle to get the action started. Rooney gets things underway with a pass to Van Persie, who sends it back to Carrick in midield.

Or perhaps not! Has Van Gaal pulled a bait and switch with the team sheet here today? We'll soon find out.
14:57
Handshakes are under-way, with final preparations being made for kick off. As expected, Carrick starts at the back between Rojo and Smalling in a back three. Hull field a similar system.
14:55
The players are all lined up in the tunnel ready to step out onto the field. Former United academy products Chester and Brady get a warm welcome from Rooney before walking out with their present-day colleagues into the cauldron of Old Trafford.
14:50
We're just 10 minutes away from kick off. The fans are readying themselves in the stands as the teams prepare to re-emerge. It's 3-5-2 versus 3-5-2 at Old Trafford. Just when you thought three-at-the-back had fallen out of fashion, it's back with a vengence.
14:40
Hull boss and former United captain Steve Bruce believes his team are "due a result" against his old club. However, the Tigers manager is under no illusions that his side's opponents today have been held back through injury, especially in defence. Can the visitors take advantage of the congestion on the treatment tables at Old Trafford before the opportunity fades in the weeks and months to come?
14:35
Some pre-match reading for United fans: Angel Di Maria has spoken of how much he is enjoying playing alongside Wayne Rooney, with Van Gaal's captain leading the scoring charts with four goals, and looking a bit more adventurous on the ball this season. Premier League fans will roll their eyes at the Lionel Messi comparison though. It wasn't so long ago that Steven Gerrard was hyping up Joe Cole as a player able to do anything the Argentinian can when he joined Liverpool. Easy now, Angel.
14:30
Hull will of course be without Gaston Ramierz, who was sent off in their previous game against Tottenham Hotspur, while Tom Huddlestone is on the bench. Jake Livermore and Mohamed Diame's starts will mean that the visitors will retain a solid core to their side however, with Liam Brady acting as their main creator in midfield.

Many believed that James Wilson would play a part in the match day squad today, with the youngster tipped by some pundits and fans to start ahead of Van Persie. The 18-year-old however is thought to have picked up an injury.
14:22
It will be curious to see how Mata combines with Angel Di Maria, Wayne Rooney, Robin van Persie and Marouane Fellaini today. The Spaniard has often struggled in games where he hasn't been made the central focus of the team under van Gaal, and given the form of Rooney, Di Maria and Fellaini, he's unlikely to be given top billing against Hull.
14:20
Much of the focus for the visitors will fall on Hatem Ben Arfa, who is yet to truly come alive for the Tigers this season. The tricky Frenchman is on loan at the KC Stadium from Newcastle United after he fell out with manager Alan Pardew. With the winger having previously suggested that he wants to build to towards a permanent transfer to big name club on the continent during his time at Hull, he must begin to produce and impress to put those plans into action.

Here's the official team sheets, courtesy of Rob Dawson on Twitter. The other big team news for United is that Juan Mata gets his first start in a month while Radamel Falcao is named as a sub on the bench. Paddy McNair and Tyler Blackett drop to the bench after their heroics against Arsenal. Abel Hernandez is not available for the visitors after the club granted him leave following the birth of his child. They do have a potential super subs in Sone Aluko however.
14:13
Steve Bruce's side could match their hosts with a similar formation, with a back three of James Chester, Curtis Davies and Michael Dawson, while Andrew Robertson - who scored against England during Scotland's game against the the Three Lions - and Ahmed Elmohamady take up position on the flanks.
14:10
United's team sheet makes for some interesting reading, with a back three or a back four possible given the personnel named. However, it seems likely that Louis van Gaal has decided to stick with the system that saw his team suckerpunch Arsenal last week, with Marcos Rojo and Michael Carrick thought to be set for starts in central defence. That suggests that Chris Smalling will retain his place with Ashley Young and Antonio Valencia giving the team width as wing-backs.
