Sturridge with a fourth goal in seven games against Stoke. Not a bad return as the forward presses his claims to be included against Dortmund on Thursday.

GOAL! Ojo with some superb stuff. Skips beyond Shaqiri before floating over a cross for Sturridge to nod home from three yards out. Brilliant football by Liverpool and Ojo. A 2-1 lead for the home team.

Another offside flag goes up against Crouch, but that is clearly the wrong call. Lovely delivery by Bardsley before Crouch heads wide. The former England forward is far from happy with that decision.

Liverpool content to press high up the park. Some fine work by Moreno to ensure Shaqiri can't cause any damage moving forward.

Liverpool fans trying to lift the home side as we approach the half-hour mark. It is probably a fair reflection of the match so far with the scoreline at 1-1.

A bullet of a hit from Sturridge, but he sees the ball fly a few yards wide of goal. It remains 1-1. Liverpool with three shots at goal compared to two by Stoke.

OFFSIDE! Crouch with a brilliant headed finish from the Pieters cross, but he is deemed to be narrowly offside. Not much in that. Stoke denied a 2-1 lead.

Klopp and Hughes exchange a few verbals in the rival technical areas before Pieters is booked for a crunching late challenge on Ojo out wide. A booking for the visiting defender.

Shaqiri goes for the dive. Seemed to play for it as he is taken out late by Moreno. Klopp isn't too happy with Shaqiri.

Some last-ditch defending by Pieters to clear the danger. Needed to make that clearance, and did. This game is fairly coming to life now.

That is Stoke's first league goal at Anfield since Paul Bracewell scored for the club in 1983. Good pub question in Stoke.

GOAL! Shaqiri with a delightful ball into the home box and Bojan runs away from Toure before nodding beyond Mignolet. Liverpol defence all over the place. It is 1-1.

Shaqiri does plenty of running in the Liverpool half. Finally gets a cross into the area, but Mignolet is on hand to pluck that out of the air. Easy enough in the end for the home goalkeeper.

Liverpool break from a Stoke corner, but the move comes to nothing with Firmino failing to pick out Sturridge. Poor end product.
