Liverpool break from a Stoke corner, but the move comes to nothing with Firmino failing to pick out Sturridge. Poor end product.

Bardsley on the charge for Stoke. Throws over a cross, but Kolo Toure is covering and Stoke earn themselves a corner.

Stoke are winless in all 52 top flight matches at Liverpool, the most top flight away fixtures a team has played against a single opponent without ever winning. Not sure we are going to see an end to that wretched record today.

Stewart slams a wayward pass straight out of play from inside his own half. Poor stuff really under little or no pressure.

Ojo on his way for Liverpool down a flank, but he takes a tumble under pressure from Pieters in the visiting left-back area. No foul before Sturridge finds himself on the ball seconds later.

Moreno almost in for a second goal, but he is marginally offside as he is chased by Shaqiri in the Stoke half. Relief for Stoke.

Crouch brings down Allen as Liverpool are given the chance to regroup deep in their own half. A lively start to this match.

Stoke paying a heavy price for nodding off as Stewart is penalised for a late challenge on Imbula. Clattenburg having a word with the Liverpool midfielder.

GOAL! Milner takes the quick free-kick. Finds Moreno and that is a cracking finish from 24 yards. A powerful dipping finish flies past Haugaard in the visiting goal. A 1-0 lead for Liverpool.

Some lovely play by Stewart in the middle of the park, but that is a late, late tackle by Imbula before Bardlsey takes out Milner with a poor challenge.

Allen tries to pick out Ojo with a raking ball, but he overhits the delivery as the pass flies straight out of play.

Ojo takes up a nice position in the Stoke area, but ends up passing the ball straight to a black shirt. Poor stuff really.

Milner's delivery is fairly poor and Bardsley sweeps the ball away for the visiting side. Ball back in the home half. Liverpool in possession.

Stoke last won a league match at Anfield in 1959 - 57 years ago. Not exactly a record that anybody needs reminding of among the visiting fans.

Bojan with an early sight at goal, but he thumps a shot a few yards wide from distance. Doesn't look overly impressed with that effort.

Mignolet thumps the ball up the park early on as Stoke immediately look to get on the front foot. Skrtel picks up for the home side from a Mignolet pass.

Stoke get the action off and running at Anfield.

Liverpool make seven changes from the 1-1 draw in Dortmund. Kolo Toure and Martin Skrtel replace Dejan Lovren and Mamadou Sakho in central defence. Joe Allen, Kevin Stewart, Sheyi Ojo, Roberto Firmino and Daniel Sturridge are all handed starts.

Stoke makes three changes from the 2-2 draw against Swansea last weekend. Xherdan Shaqiri is back from injury. Defender Ryan Shawcross returns while Peter Crouch is handed a start up front. Crouch's last goal in the Premier League came in the 6-1 drubbing of Liverpool at the end of last season.
