The whistle goes and Jurgen Klopp's first Premier League game in charge of Liverpool ends goalless. It was Spurs who had the better of the chances, but neither side will be overly disappointed with the point on the balance of play.

The Spurs wall blocks the free-kick and White Hart Lane breathes a collective sigh of relief.

Alli fouls Milner right on the edge of the area. It's a free-kick rather than a penalty, but is still in a great position for the visitors to test Lloris or whip in a cross.

There will be three minutes of time added on for one of the sides to try and grab a late winner.

Lucas picks up a yellow card for a foul on Kane. The Brazilian got a touch on the ball, but followed through and wiped out Kane and gave the referee little choice.

Can fizzes a shot narrowly wide from just outside the box. Klopp applauds the effort and urges his team on for one final push.

Spurs also make a change, bringing on Andros Townsend for Lamela, who was inching dangerously close to a second yellow.

The pace of the game has finally taken its toll. Off goes Coutinho for Ibe for Liverpool.

Eriksen unlocks the Liverpool defence with a jinking run and tees up Kane, who forces a strong save out of Mignolet in the Liverpool goal.

Pochettino is wearing a suit today, apparently at the request of his parents, who weren't happy about his sloppy appearance in televised games. They will be happier with his attire today, but maybe less so about his demeanour - which is becoming increasingly tetchy.

Liverpool make a change, replacing the impressive Lallana with Joe Allen.

That break all came from what looked like a clear foul by Milner on Rose in the Liverpool half. The Spurs fans still haven't calmed down and Pochettino is in a rage on the touchline. Milner is already on a yellow, don't forget.

Origi drills a shot straight at Lloris after a lightning break from Liverpool. The Belgian should have gone across the keeper, but made it easy for the Spurs skipper.

Liverpool clear the corner with ease and Walker's effort from range on the follow-up flies miles over the bar.

Kane does superbly to hold the ball up and allow his support to arrive, but then fails to pick out a team-mate. Spurs will have a corner, but the attack promised much more than that.

Origi tries to burst on to a through-ball, but Lloris is off his line so quickly that the striker doesn't stand a chance of winning the race.

Kyle Walker is really struggling with a knock and may be unable to continue. Treatment for the full-back gives the rest of the players a much-needed chance to grab a drink.

Liverpool have found a second wind from somewhere. Can they give Klopp a win to kick-start his life as a Koppite? There are 20 minutes remaining.
