Hull are moving the ball around nicely, against a very high Leicester backline. There may be chances for Hull if they can find a bit of pace up front through Hernandez and Diomande.

Mahrez plays in Simpson down the right but Clucas is across to make the tackle.

CHANCE: Snodgrass's corner is headed over, just, by Davies. A chance there for the home side.

Jake Livermore, as expected, is playing at centre-half for Hull. Interestingly, there is no mention of former manager Steve Bruce in the match programme.

Jakupovic tips over an effort from distance from Gray. The former Birmingham winger's corner is cleared away by Robertson.

There's no Jeffrey Schlupp on the Leicester bench today, by the way. West Brom made a £12m offer for the 23-year-old on Friday, with the deal expected to be completed on Monday.

Hull City are winless in their last five league meetings with Leicester City (two draws, three defeats) and the stats also say they are not great early risers on a Saturday morning!

Phelan admits his injury-hit team will struggle to get a result against the Premier League champions. "I would say no, simply because of the injuries - and the injuries are not short term. Most of them are longer term than we expected,” the former Manchester United assistant manager said.

Leicester boss Ranieri has called on Premier League match officials to protect Jamie Vardy as the Foxes begin the defence of their title. "I hope that the referees are very, very attentive,” the Italian said. “If there is something wrong, if it’s a free-kick or a penalty kick they must stay calm because now everyone wants to stop Jamie Vardy."

Former Hull goalkeeper Steve Harper says the chaos at the club came about because of a breakdown in the relationship between former manager Steve Bruce and Ehab Allam. "Bruce was the heartbeat of Hull for four years," Harper told the Daily Mail. "He had built the club back up after relegation and wanted to take it on again this summer, but the lack of support with transfers made it difficult to stay. The club is in limbo now and, after 22 years as a professional, I can tell you that players do not like uncertainty. This will have an effect."

"The players and staff just want clarity. Whatever route the chairman wants to go down, we want it decided as soon as possible. We need that clarity to move forward as a club and a squad of players," Huddlestone, who starts alongside David Meyler in midfield against Leicester today, said.
11:55
Hull midfielder Tom Huddlestone has called on the Allams to sort out the future of the club as quickly as possible, amid speculation the pair are close to selling their shares to a Chinese consortium.

The Tigers are in disarray following the departure of Steve Bruce, the manager who led them to the Premier League via the play-offs last season, and the illness of owner Assem Allam. Allam's son Ehab is currently in charge of day-to-day affairs, but there has been no player recruitment over the summer at the KCOM Stadium.

Claudio Ranieri has made three changes to the side that started the 2-1 Community Shield defeat to Manchester United last Sunday. Luis Hernandez starts at the back, as German defender Robert Huth is completing the final game of a three-match ban. Ahmed Musa make his Premier League debut alongside Jamie Vardy in what seems to be a 4-4-2 formation, with Shinji Okazaki dropping to the bench, while Demarai Gray replaces Marc Albrighton on the wing.

Hull caretaker manager Mike Phelan has just 13 fit senior players for the visit of the champions. Goalkeeper Allan McGregor is out for up to six months with a back injury, so Eldin Jakupovic starts for the Tigers in goal, while three centre-backs Alex Bruce, Harry Maguire and captain Michael Dawson are sidelined through injury.
