Right, I'm signing off for the evening. I would like to say it was a pleasure but that would be a lie. We should have been treated to a high-octane World Cup qualifier between two South American heavyweights. Instead we had eight minutes of play followed by a walk-off, arguments and finally a training session. But we were treated to a worldie by Atletico Mineiro's goalkeeper Everson smash a goal in from distance! Thanks all and good night.

John is referring to Guinea-Morocco being called off because of a coup attempt in Guinea's capital Conakry earlier today...

In other World Cup qualifiers results tonight, Germany have thrashed Andorra 6-0, Spain got back to winning ways with a 4-0 thumping over Georgia and Belgium have beaten Czech Republic 3-0 - no surprises there. But Italy were held to a goalless draw in Switzerland. Oh and Poland racked up a 7-1 victory in San Marino!

This just about sums up this whole situation, doesn't it?

Here we go: the moment you were waiting for!
-
Argentina's players quickly headed for the changing room as Brazil's stayed out on the pitch. With the return of the visitors highly unlikely, Brazil are now engaged in a training session.
-
The issue is reportedly surrounding Argentina's Premier League players who were included in their squad tonight - Emi Martinez, Giovani Lo Celso, Christian Romero and Emi Buendia. Covid rules in Brazil state that arrivals from the UK must quarantine for 14 days and that apparently prompted the country's health regulator Anvisa to demand the immediate isolation of the players.
-
Let's face it, this match is not going to resume tonight. The game was just six or seven minutes old when Brazilian health officials appeared on the pitch - apparently in an attempt to deport four opposition players due to a breach of Covid regulations.
-
Oh my, Brazil's goalkeeper has just fired a powerful effort from distance into the net, prompting huge cheers from the stands. What a moment!
-
While the officials try to sort out this almighty mess, we are being treated to a fun mini-match between Brazil's stars.
-
AFA president Claudio Tapia has said: "You cannot talk about any lie here because there is health legislation under which all South American tournaments are played. The health authorities of each country approved a protocol that we have been fully complying with. What happened today is unfortunate for football, it is a very bad image. Four people entered to interrupt the game to make a notification and Conmebol asked the players to go to the locker room."
-
Here's the moment play was brought to a halt...
-
Argentina's Twitter channel has just posted quotes from coach Lionel Scaloni. They are translated as follows: "It makes me very sad. I am not looking for any culprit. If something happened or did not happen, it was not the time to make that intervention. It should have been a party for everyone, to enjoy the best players in the world. I would like the people of Argentina to understand that as a coach I have to defend my players. At no time were we notified that they could not play the match. We wanted to play the match, the Brazilian footballers too."
-
The training session has commenced as the red bibs are out and Brazil's players are going through their warm-ups.
-
All three of Brazil's goalkeepers are now on the pitch and extra nets have appeared. It's looking very much like a training session is going to take place.
-
Premier Sports is reporting the game will be abandoned, and Brazil will instead have a training session ahead of their upcoming World Cup qualifier against Peru on Thursday. This has not been confirmed, however.
-
'Argentina's delegation buses started and the locker room door has been opened', according to a source in Brazil.

-
Some of Brazil's backroom staff are now involved in a kickaround with the players - delightful stuff!
