The German became the first athlete other than Kraft to win a World Cup leg this season. Kraft won the first four World Cup legs but was pipped by just 1.2 points thanks to Geiger's 146-metre second jump. Geiger led after the first round, his 144-metre jump enough for 132.6 points, while Kraft sat fourth. But the Austrian rebounded with a 144.5-metre second-round jump to leap into contention.
