TSONGA 1-2 FEDERER - Tsonga finds that big serve to gain control of this game. He then out-lasts his rival in a rally for 40-0 before a little jump on the backhand sees him hitting long. Federer sends back a body serve to close the gap to 40-30, but a long return sees Tsonga get on the board in this match.

TSONGA 0-2 FEDERER - Straightforward service game to love from Federer. He opens it with one of those stylish dipping winners to the corner, and his serve does the damage from there.

TSONGA 0-1 FEDERER - BREAK - Long from Tsonga on the first point but he responds with a soft volley to level at 15-15. An early double then smash gives the Swiss two break points, and he seals the break with the second of them. /// @SerPeker: "federer in 3 straight sets symco. hi from turkey bro"

Off we go then. Tsonga to serve in the first game.

However they played one another a ridiculous eight times in 2011, with Federer winning six of them. Most were on hardcourts, with Tsonga winning one of those and also on the grass of Wimbledon - remember that quarter-final comeback?

The head-to-head is 8-3 in favour of Federer. They did not meet last year, with Federer pulling out of their Doha last-four meeting with a back injury.

Tsonga was too good for French compatriot Richard Gasquet in the fourth round, while Federer eased past Milos Raonic.
