Djokovic: "I've played an unbelievable first two sets. It's necessary against Roger. He's been playing at a very high level at this tournament and dropped only one set." He added: "It was a battle in the end, but thank you all for coming and I hope you enjoyed this match tonight." GAME, SET AND MATCH! - DJOKOVIC 6-1 6-2 3-6 6-3 FEDERER. The world number one and reigning champion serves out the contest to love. The Serb reaches his sixth Melbourne final after halting Federer's brief fightback. He also takes a 23-22 lead in the head-to-head with Federer. He will now meet Andy Murray or Milos Raonic on Rod Laver Arena on Sunday. Whoever he faces will know the Serbinator has hit top form at just the right time... daunting.

BREAK! - DJOKOVIC 6-1 6-2 3-6 5-3 FEDERER. Novak strikes! A wonderful crosscourt pass puts the Serbinator 0-30 up but the point of the match sees Fed-Ex roar back with a sizzling shot down the line to make 30-30. Another rasping crosscourt tees up BP for Nole as it clips the net on the way through and he seals what will surely be the fatal blow with a devastating low return.

DJOKOVIC 6-1 6-2 3-6 4-3 FEDERER. The world number one is not firing on all cylinders but he's keeping himself in front. Federer doesn't do enough to apply the pressure and take advantage of the tension. It's a simple enough service game for the Serb as we enter the business end of the set. A drop of serve now would surely be fatal for Fed....

DJOKOVIC 6-1 6-2 3-6 3-3 FEDERER. Novak bonks his head with his racket after lashing a backhand long under no real pressure at 30-30. The Serb will have felt he had a chance to swing the pendulum back his way but he failed to make it count. Some big serves from Federer earn the Maestro some cheap points and he levels it up once more.

DJOKOVIC 6-1 6-2 3-6 3-2 FEDERER. An ace down the middle T is a good response to secure the game for Djokovic after he had overcooked a forehand to the baseline at 40-15. This is so finely poised now. Who will blink first in the fourth?

DJOKOVIC 6-1 6-2 3-6 2-2 FEDERER. What a transformation we have seen from Federer. The Swiss cracks down ace number five and plunders a crsscourt pass on the run as he cruises to a love hold. Now, can he make a breakthrough on the Djokovic serve. He'll feel he missed chances on Nole's previous two. the Serb nowhere near the heights of the first two sets now.

Great stat from Federer's previous service games.

DJOKOVIC 6-1 6-2 3-6 2-1 FEDERER. A groan of dismay escapes from Federer as he hooks a crosscourt backhand into the net. It allows Djokovic to pull clear and claim a simple hold to 15 to stay in front in what has been a tense opening to the fourth set.
-
DJOKOVIC 6-1 6-2 3-6 1-1 FEDERER. Nole gets a foothold in the game at 30-30 but in the end he can't go close to the early break as Federer fires an ace down the middle T before cannoning down a big first serve Djokovic can't return into play.

DJOKOVIC 6-1 6-2 3-6 1-0 FEDERER. The delay doesn't seem to have affected Roger as he roars into a 0-30 lead. Djoker's serve misfires but Federer gets his returns all wrong to allow the Serb to complete the recovery with four points on the spin. Will Federer be left to rue those missed chances on the second serve?
