Barcelona are struggling to keep tabs on Piatti. He has been the standout for Valencia this evening. Neville has pretty much given him a free role across his side's frontline.

PIATTI JUST COULDN'T MAKE THE CONNECTION! Negredo turned his marker and drove to the byline, squared for Piatti, but he couldn't get his feet sorted in time to take the shot.

Of course, Enrique's side can set a club record tonight should they avoid defeat, but the Catalans remain second best at the moment. They haven't had many chances of their own.

A 28-match winning run is on the line for Barcelona tonight, but they don't seem too bothered about that at the moment. There's not much urgency to their play right now.

The second half is following the tone of the first half so far. Barcelona are enjoying much of the possession, but it's the home side who are finding more joy in the final third. They look dangerous.

DECENT DIVING HEADER! Valencia come close to doubling their advantage on the night. Piatti's cross was excellent, but Mina could only direct his diving header over the bar. Close.

There was a slight improvement in Valencia's play in the first half. Negredo found something of a lucky goal, but they needed some of that in the final third. Is that the turning point?

MUNIR SHOULD HAVE EQUALISED! Adriano's cross into the box from the freekick was magnificent, but Munir couldn't strain his neck far enough and he sent his header wide.

The quirk of that goal from Negredo is that as poor as he has been this evening, he is now the join top scorer in this season's Copa Del Rey. This has been his tournement.

Whilst he certainly got more than his fair share of good fortune in the finish, Negredo did well to take the ball down as it was punted long from the back. Good touch from the striker.

GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL! Valencia 1 (40 mins - Alvaro Negredo) Barcelona 0. Valencia finally enjoy some luck! Negredo's chipped effort hit Ter Stegen and bounced off his thigh, putting him clean through on an empty net. The hosts have the lead on the night!

VERMAELEN JUST COULDN'T RISE HIGH ENOUGH! The Barcelona defender was up from the back for the corner, but he couldn't jump high enough and the ball skims through his hair.

SANTOS NEEDED TO MAKE THAT BLOCK! Sandro was going for goal, but his shot was going to meet Munir at the back post for the tap-in. However, Santos was there to cut it out.
