There was a point after Alcacer's goal that Valencia looked like they might mount a real fight back in the search for an equaliser, but this still goes down as an excellent Atletico performance.

This is becoming a more open game now. Valencia are pushing, with Alcacer the one doing much of the pressing. But that is leaving them more open to the Atletico counter attack.

All of a sudden it's Valencia who are pressing and pushing forward at every possible opportunity. That penalty kick has given them a way back into this match, and it looked unlikely they would find one.
