More poor defending from Santos! He looks so shaky alongside Mustafi, but this time Atletico Madrid can't take advantage and Valencia recover their shape at the back to remain firm.

Both Santos and Mustafi were at fault for allowing Jackson clean through on goal. It was poor defending from the pair and the Colombian made the most of the chance he was given.

Having said that, Atletico Madrid have only really had one chance in front of goal - and that was a header from a set piece. Not many teams come to the Vicente Calderon and go toe-to-toe with Atletico like this.

This has been a well matched contest between the two sides at the moment, but on the measure of the opening 30 minutes you would say that Atletico Madrid have edged things so far.

Rodrigo gave Valencia a certain energy in the final third, but the change shouldn't alter Valencia's shape too much. Alcacer will take his place as the focal point of the attacking line.

Mustafi is aggrieved at the decision by the referee to award Atletico Madrid a freekick on the edge of the box. He even appeared to win the ball, and he gets a booking for his trouble too.

Valencia made a poor start to the season, but have since recovered. Although there are still some fans who would like Nuno to leave as manager. They have high expectations at the Mestalla.
