Valencia actually started the game relatively well and looked lively, but couldn't keep pace with Atletico Madrid once they began to ramp up the tempo of their play. Can they mount a fight back in this second half?

Atletico Madrid were outstanding in the first half, but can they really keep up that kind of standard for the rest of the match? Valencia are certainly hoping not. That's their only chance.

While Atletico Madrid's frontline have done the damager, Gabi and Tiago are dictating things from the centre of the pitch with Koke also impressive on the left side of the midfield.

Nuno has a real job on his hands to pick up his team at the break. Valencia started the half well but Atletico Madrid cranked it up after the half-hour mark and have strangled them.

Atletico Madrid are in the mood tonight. Valencia aren't being allowed any time on the ball and the home side are irrepressible in their pressing and attacking of the visitors' backline.

The home side have ramped things up in the last 10 minutes or so. Valencia now look so nervous at the back and Atletico Madrid are allowing them absolutely no time on the ball.

We suspected that this might be the best game of the weekend in Spain, and it's turning out that way. This has been a hugely impressive performance from Atletico Madrid so far.

Things are going from bad to worse for Valencia. It looks like Mustafi might have picked up an injury and is hobbling about his penalty area. Will Nuno have to make another change?
