And with that goal this contest has been effectively settled. Barcelona have looked frail at the back at times, but they're not going to concede three times between now and full time.

Barcelona were comfortably the better team in the first half at Camp Nou, but Lucho will be concerned by how vulnerable his side looked at the back when they were attacked.

Barcelona also made a change at the break and Suarez has been taken off by Lucho. On comes Alcacer as the home side look wrap up one of their best players in cotton wool.

Sporting Gijon looked dangerous when they pressed high up the field, so might we see more of that in this half? Will they cause Barcelona more problems? Bergui looks lively.

That was the first time Barcelona have scored three times in the first half of a match since October. They had it all their own way. Can Sporting put up more of a fight in this half?

HALF TIME: Barcelona 3-1 Sporting Gijon. That was a strange half of football. Barca have played the match at walking pace at times, but Gijon have caused them trouble when they have attacked.

TER STEGEN SAVE! Bergui cuts inside and gets a dangerous shot away at goal, with the Barca goalkeeper making the save. Umtiti has to make the clearance on the rebound.

Sporting Gijon are giving Messi all the space he wants. And if there's one player in world football you don't want to do that to, it's Messi. The Argentine is controlling this match.

That was audacious from Suarez. He attempted to catch out the goalkeeper with a snapshot from about 20 yards out, but there was no real power or purchase in the effort.

Whenever Sporting Gijon do attack and press high up the pitch they look like they might be able to get at Barcelona. That's the galling thing about this - they are allowing a chance to pass them by.

This has become a training match for Barcelona. They are playing this at walking pace. Sporting Gijon already look like they just want to go home. They still have 50 minutes to play.
