City are playing with such confidence, and a lovely touch from Dias takes a long ball away from Vydra.

GOAL! Burnley 0-1 Man City (Jesus) And that's why! Sterling, down the left, barges through a challege and feeds Bernardo, who drags back beautifully to open up his body and drill a shot that Pope can only flat out to Jesus; that is very silly behaviour, and a header, followed by a dive that's fooolng no one, puts his team behind. They've got problems.

Burnley are 28/1 to win this.

City knowck it about and appaear to be playing a back three; Cancelo is in midfield.

I don't expect Burnley to give much away early doors. They'll want to stay in the game as long as possible, and even if it gets to 0-1 I'd not expect them to have at it until close to time.

Off we go!
18:00
The players take a knee.

There's some clapping for Captain Tom Moore, who raised money for our NHS, because our government refuses to fund it properly.
17:56
Here come the teams....
17:53
Tonight is an important one for Gabriel Jesus, who hasn't established himself as Sergio Aguero's natural deputy - when he was bought as his replacement. Sooner or later, probably sooner, City are going to buy someone to go ahead of him, which is to say he's running out of time.
17:49
It should also be noted that Burnley have just been taken over by ALK Capital, whoever they are, a deal financed with the club's own money. What happens is that the buyer borrows money to buy the club, using the club's assests as security in order to transfer the debt onto the club's books, making the club responsible for paying the money back. It's unbelievable that, 16 years and more than £1bn after the Glazers did that to turn Man United into their family ATM, this is still allowed.
17:48
Dwight McNeill didn't get much of the ball at the weekend, but if Burnley can find him tonight, he might find joy behind Joao Cancelo, who's having a very good season but who isn't perfect defensively.
17:47
Dyche tells BT that he's pleased with six points from the last three games but City are difficult to play with the way they move the ball. He's got a few injuries which he says isn't helpful, but his players can play without pressure because nothing's expected of them. He admits that if City turn up, his lot have a problem, and reckons Burnley played ok in the first half at Stamford Bridge, but when Chelsea turned it up, it was difficult for them.
17:45
People fall in love with football because it's fast, dynamic, intense and frivolous, not because of how many decisions its refs get right. The laws are there to serve the game, not the other way around, and the authorities have completely lost sight of that.
17:44
Ultimately, it's not always possible to know stuff. If we accept that, then accept the fallibility of the tech and those administering it, the line drawing doesn't matter because we know it's not definitive . Maybe it was, maybe it wasn't, we're all adults, get on with the game.
17:44
"Can you be sure whether it's on or off?"
"No."
"OK, goal."
17:43
The tech and those operating it aren't infallible, so if the naked eye can't see whether it's on or off, instead of wasting time drawing lines on the screen, either go with whatever the on-pitch decision was, or give a goal.
17:43
Seems we're talking about VAR again, so a few thoughts on that:
17:39
Laporte at left-back, though, is an interesting one. He's not got loads of pace and not used to playing there, so if I was Sean Dyche - FOAD, I'm not - I'd be looking to get after him.
17:37
Guardiola says the point of winning games isn't to build a run but to win them, and says his team can play better than they have been doing - which is so of all teams. But there's not lots of time to prepare, so you do your best. He notes how tough their February schedule is, and that while tonight's back four haven't played together this season, everyone will be needed.
17:33
The thing about City's run of form - the longest run of wins in their history - is that it's come against extremely obliging opposition. The games get a bit harder now, with Liverpool next, then after Swansea in the cup, it's Spurs, Arsneka, Gladbach, West Ham, United. If they're in as good a position then as they are now, they'll be looking a lot like champions.
