The thing about City's run of form - the longest run of wins in their history - is that it's come against extremely obliging opposition. The games get a bit harder now, with Liverpool next, then after Swansea in the cup, it's Spurs, Arsneka, Gladbach, West Ham, United. If they're in as good a position then as they are now, they'll be looking a lot like champions.

Sean Dyche, today's lockdown treasure. Not one I predicted, but that's the beauty of it.

This is great.

The thing about this truncated season is that you get full value for your good form because the games come so quickly (just as bad form can very quickly become very very bad). City are benefitting from this at the moment, but lkay Gundogan is benefitting more than most. He's been perhaps the best player in the league this last month, and Burnley will need to find a way of stopping him because he's the one making it all happen. If they can't they'll almost definitely lose.

City, meanwhile, have the luxury of making four changes following their narrow win over Sheffield United. Walker, Zinchenko, Fernandinho, Foden and Torres are on the bench, with Cancelo, Stones, Rodri, Mahrez and Sterling replacing them.
17:12
They'll miss Wood, but Rodriguez might offer a different threat. Dias and Stones are coping well with the physical aspect of things, but Stones, better though he now is, hasn't suddenly acquired pace on the turn.

Sean Dyche makes two changes from the weekend abjectivity, both forced: Robbie Brady and Chris Wood are injured, so they're replaced by Johann Gudmundson and Jay Rodriguez respectively.

Let's have some teams....

This should be decent. Burnley have beaten Liverpool and Villa recently, and look in decent nick. It's true that they were dreadful at Chelsea last Sunday, but that's to our advantage too; they simply cannot be as lethargic and loose as they were then.
City, meanwhile, are getting it done. Since drawing at home to West Brom, they've won 12 straight and now sit top of the league, level on points with Manchester United but with better goal difference and having played two games fewer. They're not as devastating in attack as they were but they're defending properly, not something I've ever said about any Pep Guardiola side, which makes them a frankly disgusting proposition for any team in world football.
