More from Nole: "This is the tournament I always dreamed of winning. This is the best tournament in the world, the most valuable one. The first tennis match that I saw in my life, when I was five years old, was Wimbledon and that image stuck in my mind. So, to be able to compete at such a high level... I'm so grateful for this opportunity and to be able to hold this trophy... I'd like to dedicate it to my future wife and our future baby. I'm going to become a father soon. It's a great joy in life. I would also like to dedicate it to my family, my parents, my brothers... and my team of course. They sacrifice a lot of their free time in order for me to live the dream and be where I am at this moment. Last but not least, I would like to dedicate this title to my first coach who taught me all the basics of tennis shots and behaviour and everything I know about tennis, Jelena Gencic. She passed away last year and this is for her."

Speaking on Centre Court, runner-up Federer said: "It was a great final. I can't believe I made it to five. It wasn't looking good there for a while! You know going into a match with Novak it is going to be tough. Sometimes rough physically because we play athletic points. I can only say congratulations today, it was an amazing match, an amazing tournament once again. It's well deserved."

GAME, SET AND MATCH! DJOKOVIC 6-7(7-9) 6-4 7-6(4) 5-7 6-4 FEDERER - He's done it! Djokovic wins the Wimbledon title for only the second time in his career. It's his seventh Grand Slam triumph and means he will be the new World number One from tomorrow. The top seed cranked up the heat at 0-30 and missed a basic crosscourt forehand to allow Fed-Ex a reprieve. It lasted for one point as he forced the error from the Swiss to snare two match points. Federer had seen off danger on so many occasions today, but not this time as he fired into the net to leave Djokovic in dreamland.

DJOKOVIC 6-7(7-9) 6-4 7-6(4) 5-7 5-4 FEDERER - Nole shrugs off the disappointment of the last game to cruise through as routine a service game as he's going to get under the circumstances, to 15. The pressure switches to Federer who must serve to stay in the match.

DJOKOVIC 6-7(7-9) 6-4 7-6(4) 5-7 4-4 FEDERER - That was so close for Djoker. Is that second title going to prove elusive? Djokovic roars out of the traps and secures double break point with a lovely passing shot. Fed-Ex saves both with some typically majestic stroke-play before the Serb lands a third opportunity with a wonderful pass down the line. Federer performs another Houdini act to win a volleying battle at the net. The pair fight it out at deuce until a big serve puts the Swiss in charge with Nole fizzing wide down the line to miss out on the break he had worked so hard for.

DJOKOVIC 6-7(7-9) 6-4 7-6(4) 5-7 4-3 FEDERER - A vital hold for what appears to be a flagging Djokovic. Nole wins a big point at 15-15 when he finds the gap down the line with a clever backhand after Fed-Ex had closed in at the net. But he can't do it a second time as Federer anticipates the same shot and steers a cushioned volley into an open court. The Swiss looks the fresher of the two and hits another probing shot deep to the baseline that Djoker can only rap into the net. The break is on but Fed fires into the net and the pair exchange blows at deuce until the Serb summons something extra from somewhere to pull through with a fierce first serve that the seven-time champion can't return.

DJOKOVIC 6-7(7-9) 6-4 7-6(4) 5-7 3-3 FEDERER - The Swiss Maestro is living up to that nickname right now, lashing down some unbelievable serves to canter to another perfect game.

DJOKOVIC 6-7(7-9) 6-4 7-6(4) 5-7 3-2 FEDERER - Much better from Novak as he batters away at Federer's slice defence to finally volley the winner at the net at 30-15 before crashing an ace down the middle T to clinch the game. No signs of the injury there.
-
DJOKOVIC 6-7(7-9) 6-4 7-6(4) 5-7 2-2 FEDERER - Nole is back up and ready for action but he seems a bit subdued as Federer romps to a love hold. The final point sees the Serb prod a return long and it was all a bit lacklustre.

So how do we see this going now? It's into the fifth-set decider - who will handle the pressure and win this trophy? Djokovic or Federer? Is this one of the best finals in recent memory? Tweet @paul_hassall your thoughts...
-
DJOKOVIC 6-7(7-9) 6-4 7-6(4) 5-7 2-1 FEDERER - The Serbinator lands aces nine and 10 to see off a mini challenge from Federer to 30. The 2011 champion seemed to be moving on that injured knee a bit gingerly and seeks a medical time-out when he sits down at the changeover. The Serb clearly has an injury but this is extremely frustrating for the Swiss who has been flying in the past half an hour or so. He won't want a break in play.
-
DJOKOVIC 6-7(7-9) 6-4 7-6(4) 5-7 1-1 FEDERER - Awesome serving once more from Federer who slams an ace down the middle T to take a love game. Still too close to call!
-
DJOKOVIC 6-7(7-9) 6-4 7-6(4) 5-7 1-0 FEDERER - A hugely important hold for Djokovic who secures his first game in six attempts! He must have expected to be parading the trophy around Centre Court by now, but he has shrugged off his disappointment to take the opener in this decider.

DJOKOVIC 6-7(7-9) 6-4 7-6(4) 5-7 FEDERER - SET! We are going to the wire! What a sensational recovery from the seven-time champion. He REALLY wants that eighth doesn't he?! The Swiss suffers an early blow by losing the first point but roars back with the help of a big serve and miss-hit that Nole can't get to. With two set points under his belt Federer relaxes and takes control of what proves to be the final point of the set with Djokovic steering a shot long. Psychologically that's a big blow for the Serb. Can he recover or does Fed-Ex have the momentum?

DJOKOVIC 6-7(7-9) 6-4 7-6(4) 5-6 FEDERER - BREAK! It's four games in a row for Federer and Novak is creaking. The doubts are circling his mind and he's completely capitulating. A long shot beyond the baseline gifts Fed-Ex a triple break point and from match point Djokovic is staring down the barrel of a fifth-set decider. The Serb saves two and looks in control of the rally but over-hits another attempt to the baseline to leave the Swiss to serve for the set.
-
DJOKOVIC 6-7(7-9) 6-4 7-6(4) 5-5 FEDERER - This really is extraordinary. Djokovic comes back from 30-15 down to line up a match point. Federer responds with a challenge on a serve called out and gets lucky to make deuce. The Swiss has been serving well all fortnight and lets it do the talking once again to come through and amazingly level this up!

DJOKOVIC 6-7(7-9) 6-4 7-6(4) 5-4 FEDERER - BREAK! Incredible stuff! Federer hits back and Djoker's title dream must go on the backburner after it was within two points at 30-30. A venomous backhand by the Swiss teed up break point and he made it count with a winner down the line after the Serb had somehow returned a blistering crosscourt forehand. Now, can he complete the recovery and go on to take this fourth set? How will Djoker react?
-
DJOKOVIC 6-7(7-9) 6-4 7-6(4) 5-3 FEDERER - The Swiss Maestro marauds into a 40-0 lead as both players begin to have one eye on the next game... Fed-Ex takes it to 15 and it's now up to Djoker to serve this out. Can he land his second Wimbledon title or will Federer come back from the dead?
