19:46
is this lad ever not in a good mood?
19:43
Ah, excuse me. Everton's subs, including the bargainalicious Gylfi Sigurdsson.
19:39
Guardiola says City were solid in pre-season with their 3-1-4-2 formation, and have options on the bench. Koeman says that Ramirez is injured, which is why Calvert-Lewin is up front. He went with three at the back to combat City's two strikers.
19:38
There's something about Pep Guardiola. Anyway, he thinks City need to be strong at home. Koeman thinks Everton need to control the game; good luck with that, old pal.
19:37
Tight tracky bums are the absolute worst.
19:30
That Everton XI looks solid enough, but it's not easy to see where a goal's coming from. My guess is they'll look to Calvert-Lewin to find spaces behind the City full-backs, and for Davies to break too, but City's two strikers will be much harder to handle for their back-three than vice-versa. If I were Ronald Koeman, which I'm not, I'd have played 4-3-3.
19:27
CRINGE.
19:24
Everton, meanwhile, stick with three at the back, but prefer the legs of Davies to the nous of Klaassen. I wonder, though. Usually, it doesn't make sense to match formation with a superior side, but on the other hand, if this is the way they play then this is the way they play.
19:22
Back to those teams then, City stay in that 3-1-4-2 situation. I'm not sure how well it'll work against the very best sides in the division, who they might need to outnumber in midfield, but perhaps they can do that with two men against the rest, while protecting a dodgy defence. So Sane, Silva and Sterling continue on the bench.
19:21
Breaking news: Garrance neville has a new haircut, a bit like Bart Simpson going to church.
19:18
Which to say, in brief, that City are unchanged, while Everton bring in Holgate and Davies for Klaassen and Ramirez.
19:18
19:17
Let's have some teams, then.
19:14
And this should be yet another fascinating, coruscating game. City have ridiculous options in attack and a commitment to use them, while Everton are feeling better about themselves than for a long time. They won't be silly about it, but they'll fancy themselves to get a result.
